Cedric was on a large lot in Toronto’s up and coming Oakwood Village. We decided to divide the lot and build two semi-detached New York inspired brownstones.
The interior was kept clean and minimal, in true Scandinavian style. Focusing on the kitchen as the heart of the space, we choose warm materials like white maple and brick to juxtapose the industrial architectural detailing present in the rest of the space.
O’Leary was an exciting laneway project for us. We were able to put up six freehold townhouses on this particular lot. Being a laneway, the challenge with O’Leary was maximizing the feeling of space and light. We succeeded at this by focusing our budget on large windows and maintaining open and airy concept layouts for the interior levels.
Clinton is an energy efficient eco-house. All the roofs are planted, which keeps the house cooler in the summer and warmer in the winter. We used floor to ceiling windows and incorporated sky lights, maximizing natural light. We focused on airflow by having front and back windows that open for a cross breeze. We used radiant floor heating on all levels, embedded in concrete for better energy efficiency and a peaceful rhythm to the hum of the home.
Our focus with Brunswick was a renovation / restoration project that maintained the character and integrity of the original structure of this gorgeous Annex home. We combined contemporary elements with original architectural details such as stained glass doors, exposed brick walls / beams all the while introducing clean lines and open concept layout to maximize space and light.
